In addition to an honors advisor, honors students also have a discipline-specific advisor (major advisor) and a faculty honors advisor (FHA) with whom they are expected to regularly meet.
Honors students are required to meet with their advisors at least yearly. Barrett advisors ensure that students understand the honors curriculum requirements, track students’ progress in earning honors credit, provide guidance on the thesis/creative project process and requirements, and inform students about special opportunities such as study abroad, research, internships, and community involvement. Apart from scheduled advising sessions, students also can seek guidance from their honors advisors through daily walk-in advising times, email, or phone.
