Jose will be primarily working from the Tempe campus starting January 2nd.  Jose’s roles include developing and implementing innovative global programming to engage Barrett students and collaborating with ASU and external partners to execute Barrett global initiatives.

In the summer of 2022, José returned to ASU, his alma mater, after a fulfilling career in the U.S. Army where he held various leadership and staff roles, with tours in Germany, Bosnia, Iraq, Pakistan, Japan, and other locations. His global experience, and appreciation of world cultures, complemented with a year of experience at ASU in project, program, and operations management will serve well in this role. Jose earned a MSc.Degree from the National Defence University, Islamabad, Pakistan, a B.A. Anthropology from ASU, and a diploma in Hindi language from the Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA.

Jose is originally from Mexico and grew up in Mammoth, AZ.  Jose is into ultra running and enjoys traveling with his family and spending time in Northern Arizona.

FY25 Budget Planning Workshops

As we start to prepare for the FY25 budget cycle, Barrett Business Operations will be holding a series of short workshops to go over topics to help with the planning process.  Anyone in the college can attend.

New Staff Member at Downtown

Barrett Downtown is elated to welcome a new Program Coordinator to our team! Lexxus Andrews will be joining us with exemplary leadership experience from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. As a high school educator, student leader, and student athlete, Lexxus cultivated a love for event planning, leadership development, DEI strategy, and wellness research. Lexxus’ first day will be November 27th and her role will focus on student engagement, co-curricular programming, and student organization advisement. We are excited to welcome them to the Barrett community and hope you have a chance to meet her in the near future!

As we near the winter season, some of us may start to feel ill. For those interested, we are offering COVID at-home test kits to our employees. This option enables you to conduct a self-test at home if you're feeling unwell instead of coming to the office to take a test. To obtain a kit, please email Barrett Business Operations at [email protected].
