Mandatory Training

The following mandatory training listed below must be completed within the time frames noted.

This training will be assigned to you during your new employee orientation either by ASU HR or Barrett HR. You will be assigned these modules in Workday Learning, ASU's training and professional development learning management system.

Barrett Mandatory Policy Review

Please familiarize yourself with workplace policies and pay special attention to the following regarding Conduct and Discipline. You will be required to view these policies as a part of your new hire training during your first week of employment. Employees will receive an automated email from Barrett Business Operations for more information.

ASU Mandatory Training

All training is available in Workday under Onboarding

  • Arizona Public Service Policy - 90 days from start date
  • Authorized Driver Program - immediate for required drivers (optional for others)
  • Fire and Safety - 90 days from start date
  • Information Security - 30 days from start date
  • Title IX and Your Duty to Report - 60 days from start date

     

  • Preventing Harassment and Discrimination - 60 days from start date

Additional Training Opportunities

You may be required to complete additional training depending on your job functions. Please work with your supervisor to determine whether you need these additional trainings.

  • Environmental Health and Safety
  • FERPA
  • HIPAA
  • TALENT Acquisition Certification Training
  • PeopleSoft/ Workday security role requests and training
  • Sun Devil Service
  • Emergency Response Guide- all employees should review 90 days from their start date.

Professional Development

Every benefits-eligible ASU employee qualifies for up to 24 hours of professional development training annually. TD programs help employees learn new skills, tools, and approaches to thrive in their careers.

ASU employees can access more than 14,000 online and in-person ASU and LinkedIn Learning courses via Workday Learning for mandatory job training and professional development.
